What to Check Before Ordering
- Engine identification: brand, model, year, horsepower and gearcase family.
- Propeller shaft: spline count, shaft diameter and any special adapter requirement.
- Gearcase and exhaust: gearcase size plus thru-hub or other exhaust configuration.

- Hub family: confirm that the propeller body and every hub component belong to an approved combination.
- Installation hardware: thrust washer, sleeve, spacer, washer, nut and locking device must follow the applicable diagram.

When a Replaceable Hub May Not Be the Right Choice
A modular system is not automatically an upgrade for every boat. Stay with the specified hub arrangement when the engine or propeller maker does not list a compatible kit, when a special surface-piercing or racing application requires dedicated hardware, or when the propeller barrel is designed only for a pressed hub.
After a strike, replacing the hub alone is appropriate only if the blades, barrel, shaft, seals and lower unit pass inspection. Vibration, visible distortion, fishing-line damage or metal contact marks are reasons to stop and inspect the complete installation.
